Spurs have confirmed that defender Radu Dragusin will undergo surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Adding to the team’s growing injury burden sport.

The Romanian defender suffered the injury in Spurs’ Europa League win over Elfsborg last weekend. And has raised concerns over whether the centre-back will be able to play again for the rest of the season.สมัคร UFABET

Before Dragusin’s injury, Spurs were already without central defenders Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie. While Mickey van de Ven only returned from injury last week.

Spurs have eased their defensive problems by signing centre-back Kevin Danso from Lens for £21m. After having a £70m bid for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi rejected.

Dragusin has started 21 of Spurs’ last 23 games.

The Romanian defender wrote on Instagram that he would work hard during his recovery to “come back stronger”.

“Football doesn’t just teach you how to win. It also teaches you to fight when faced with difficult situations,” he added.

Dragusin is expected to be out for at least six months. And a cruciate ligament injury like this could keep him out for up to a year.

Van de Ven missed the Brentford win and Postecoglou is set to provide an update on his fitness at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

Danso is available to come straight into the Spurs squad for the trip to Anfield.
